Still deciding whether or not to turn the rest of those bubbly blister like protrusions into gems or not...
Jetfighter is fully weathered and the cockpit canopy was completed first with brush and then with airbrush.
I havent finished the missiles yet, but for this one - I was gonna go with the necrotoxins to complement the disintegrator cannons for maximum infantry butt-hurt.
I have another razorwing (unbuilt) which I'll either kit out in factory standard dark lance/monoscythe missle loadout or sell and get a voidraven for maximum tank busting!
Definitely go for anti infantry with the disintegrator cannons. The Bomber is your anti vehicle, razorwing is your anti elites. Looks quite good, though its hard to see the actual colors of the hull with the lighting casts. Get some shots in some diffuse lighting!
ReplyDeleteHey Greg! I think I'm due for a new light bulb in my lounge room. Generally I sit out here and paint while my wife watches Glee or some such thing. A daylight bulb would be nice I think.
ReplyDeleteI'm really interested to see what this 'dark scythe' weapon on the VR is. Probably not so different from the d-scythe on the Hemlock.
I also really want that Dais of Destruction rumor to be true.
Easy cheat. Take it outside when it's overcast. Instant perfect lighting! Plus it's a plane! Wooooooooooooooooosh! Zooom! pew pew pew (at the flying insects, er I mean nurgle drones).
DeleteI'm just mad curious about the entire DE codex. I'm a bit scared at the same time. I play orks, and they tore into us with wild abandon. They are definitely not being kind in 7th edition to power levels! (I think wyches are losing the haywire grenades).
Wyches losing haywire grenades is possibly the most terrifying thing I could think that would possibly happen. I run 2 venom squads with haywires for the express purpose of taking out tanks. To lose that would require me to invest in more dark lance armed raider squads (so much painting!)
DeleteOutside is actually a good idea. Perhaps I should have waited to take pictures till tomorrow (it's night time here).
Aye, I was just thinking what the worst possible thing could be, and losing haywire on the unit (forcing you to take upgrade characters to get it) would be one of them!
DeleteThe rumors on the power from pain being a per turn upgrade (different powers added each turn) is pretty cool though!
It's certainly looking to be an interesting codex release. If wyches lose haywire, I suspect they'll be gaining something to protect them from overwatch, giving them back their original purpose.
DeleteAnother thing I'm hoping not to lose is my beloved Duke Sliscus. He and his accompanying poison storm of a trueborn squad are something I'd consider central to my list.
I'm hoping, that even if they remove the duke, they will put back some of his capability in terms of "archon" upgrades, and/or relic choices.
DeleteI'm sure the end result won't be as default or powerful as before (i think when GW does it right, the entire codex becomes choices, instead of default picks), but hopefully will still exist in a certain manner to enable people to keep running similar lists.
Definitely! If anything, I can see the army being stabilised a little, maybe making it less of a glass cannon.
DeleteI don't think they can be reformatted in any way as to not steamroll Tyranids though. I'm looking forward to the day I can poison all of those big monstrous creatures to death on the second turn lol.
I think nids already countered that pretty well with having nearly 2+ cover across their entire army. Really in a tourney setting, it's just who you come across more then anything else. Nid's main army choice, skyblight, is practically annihilated instantly if they come across orks with lots of traktor kannons.
DeleteHmmm... I havent encountered that yet but I hope I can avoid it... Dark Eldar have a horrifying lack of cover ignoring weapons...
